In 2020 all parts of our lives had a shake up—how we work out, what we eat, the products we put on our faces, the way we rest. Our homes became our sanctuaries—and our offices, gyms, classrooms, and so much more. The reverberations of those changes will be felt into 2021 and beyond. In 2021, we’ll find creative ways to foster our wellness at home by maximizing comfort and flexibility (even when square footage is minimal).
The changes to our homes brought on by the pandemic fall into two categories: stopgap measures that involve short-term updates and adjustments, and lifestyle changes that will likely stick with us in some form. These are the trends I see continuing to develop in 2021.
The Home Office
Working from home, for those of us fortunate enough to be able to do our jobs remotely, is here to stay. In fact, investing in quality items for the home office has perhaps never been more important than now for those who find themselves newly working from home and needing to cultivate a remote office environment from which to log on.

The At Home Workout
Say good riddance to the “go hard or go home” mentality because in 2021, the rise of easier-on-the-body workouts and the boom of at-home fitness solutions will continue to drive industry growth & keep us sweating every day of the week.

The Optimal Kitchen
2020 had us all trying our hands at making bread, pasta and the best cup of coffee. What will continue into 2021 is optimizing the kitchen space with the best kitchen appliances and gadgets to help us live our best lives.

Home Organization
For many, simplifying our spaces will allow us to view our homes as retreats from, rather than sources of, stress. People are taking the time to clear out all those extra items that they realize they don’t really need and focus on what makes them happy in their home. Not only will people seek to declutter, but they will be more mindful about the products they buy, investing in quality over quantity.

Into 2021, we’ll continue thinking creatively about how to transform the spaces where we spend so much of our time—pandemic or not—into the sanctuaries that truly support our multifaceted lives.
