Fall Tablescapes

It's that time of year when we start contemplating our thanksgiving centerpieces and how divinely we’ll set our dinner tables for the annual feasting.  So, up on the blog this week I am going to discuss one of my favorite Fall Tablescape ideas for your Thanksgiving table.  The Floral Installation.  If you create a floral installation over your dining table, your guests are sure to be wowed!  It is one interior design element that is dramatic and impossible to take your eyes off of.  Since it's Fall, there are beautiful warm colors to play with.  There’s something about the crispness of the autumn air and the way the leaves begin to shift hues…something that seems to ignite creativity, yet brings upon a sense of nostalgia.  It's time to play up the colorful changing leaves, while honoring that sort of nostalgic vibe and introduce a modern twist with the floral installation.

Well, as you've probably guessed, there's a lot more to it than just tying some fishing line to a few blooms and calling it a day.  Don't fret though, you can start by adding an elegant touch to a simple chandelier you already have hanging above your dining table. Incorporate delicate yet structured flowers, like orchids.  Drape them carefully so they flow naturally throughout the arms of the fixture.  Use thin floral wire to secure the stems to the chandelier without distracting from the lush blooms.  If your interior already includes a more elegant chandelier, dress it with greens such as eucalyptus.

In love with this vintage chandelier that is decorated with natural green vines. A few of these hanging inside of the tent for the reception will add a boho chic vibe.

If you don't have a pendant or a chandelier, start by playing with pampas grass.  You may have noticed the presence of pampas grass lately…I certainly have! Pampas grass is a great way to add texture and round out a palette like this, because of its neutral shade.  Pampas grass are large clumps of lush, grass-like foliage and creamy white or pink feathery plumes.  Add luxe gold accents, blush hues, and some textured and dried florals.  I mean, just look at this pampas grass cloud! What was once a dusty old grandma plant that often sat for decades in an urn in the corner, suddenly has a totally new, really modern life.  Can't seem to find Pampas grass in Philadelphia, the main line or anywhere in the Tri-State area?  You can actually buy dried pampas online and in a variety of colors!  No excuses.

W O W ! ! Palm and pampas grass hanging floral installation from @bostonpollen is magnifique!! . All shades of Yes! . . . . . . . #palm…

The Floral Installation is a great alternative to table centerpieces as it will free up space for your guests for dining and chatting with other guests - lights are often included so these statement florals don't make the table too dark.  I suggest adding a battery powered set of led string lights.

Well, the verdict is in! This vintage bohemian dinner party takes the cake for cutest of all time. With an upscale Southern feast, a wheat and burgundy floral chandelier and the most darling collection of mismatched chairs, you will not want to miss the beauty in store. We are pretty sold on the open beam living room too! #ruffledblog

This abundant floral installation by Davy Gray could bring tears to my eyes.

If you love flowers and want to splash out, this incredible floral-covered ceiling installation idea will truly impress your guests. The view from below, looking straight up at a sea of flowers and foliage would be breathtaking, and also smell amazing!  A huge number of flowers will be used to make a hanging flower arrangement, so choose local and in-season to keep costs under control.  You do not have to spend a fortune.  Incorporate good quality artificial flowers, plenty of foliage and cheaper fresh blooms such as carnations to balance the budget.
